when I try to search by discord author_id (I assume it means the username). Might be cause I am on VPN

author_id is for discord UserIDs, and the no token is most likely because you didn't create an account. Account creation is free but limited use, 50 results cap and won't show information dating more than 1 month old.

I was greatly disappointed to learn back in 2020 that PS5 didn't even support themes. The only customization it offers is disabling / enabling sound and changing a background to a screenshot for one of the menu items which is a dashboard (with customizable widgets at least) with your friends' activities, new store arrivals or whatever you choose.

Changing to an appropriate theme when there were holidays or when I beat a good game that stays in my mind was something that I didn't know I would miss once switching to a new generation.

It does now have a limited set of themes based on previous consoles. Initially a 40th anniversary special feature that ended up sticking. But yeah, it’s a bit odd we’ve gone from Sony providing the tools to make your own theme with the PS3 to basically nothing with the PS5.

oh yeah, it turns out I even had one of these themes enabled (PS3 one). I got so used to it I forgot it's not how the console usually looks. Still a far cry from custom icons and animated backgrounds

I find it amusing or maybe even confusing that the developers seem to be changing the TUI look every month or so. Sometimes I go for 2 weeks without vibing cause I am working on something that doesn't involve coding or whatever and then I open gemini-cli only to be greeted with an update and a new UI

Daft Punk didn't have helmets in the 90s, did they?

Correct, seems like my memory failed me on that one.

cmd+shift+R for reader mode if you prefer a keyboard shortcut

I wonder if Gamecube's PPC CPU is sufficiently compatible. then you have the easy Cube puns to use in reference to G4 cube

i love it. my mac doesn't have the home row (don't know if that's how that row of buttons is called) so I use spacebar and shift+spacebar as pgdown and pgup when I am reading

[fn]+[up arrow] = pgup, [fn]+[down arrow] = pgdown, [fn]+[left arrow] = home, [fn]+[right arrow] = end

These are impossible to press with just one hand (or the bottom of my coffee cup in a pinch), though.

I use option + up arrow or option + down arrow sometimes, works the same as spacebar to page up / page down.

In which browser? Doesn't work in Firefox, unfortunately.

Unfortunately I'm using Chrome still.

They're called the navigation keys. Fn + Up/Down (arrow keys) is PgUp/PgDn, and Fn + Left/Right is Home/End. But of course, those keys are on completely opposite sides of the keyboard, so Space is more convenient.

yeah, with spacebar i can use either of my hands while the arrow keys would require me to use both of my hands

I am often annoyed Mac does not have a right Ctrl or a right Fn.

>the home row (don't know if that's how that row of buttons is called)

the "home row" is where your fingers start out if you know how to type by touch, and it come from the days of typewriters instead of keyboards.

on a QWERTY keyboard, the home row is ASDFGHJKL; with your fingers resting on ASDF and JKL;

when they teach you to touch type, they say "put your fingers on the home row" and "home is where your fingers always return to."

"Home row" usually refers to the row where you initially put your fingers when touch typing, to not have to move them much while typing.

Bought an e-scooter from Wilfa (under the E-way subbrand). Been reversing it slowly. End goal is to have an Apple Watch only app with stats and maybe some fun gimmicks like using wrist rotation and gestures for switching gears and such.

So far I first sniffed the BT logs from my iPhone but couldn't figure out how authorization works. Recently decided to decompile the android version and with some LLM help I made some progress. Been too busy to test it out but once I crack the authorization I can get started with writing my own Watch app

I hope OP is still reading comments. I noticed that the project was written in Xcode (the repo even has the xcodeproj folder) but in some screenshots I see CLion. Did you switch at some point or were you using both throughout the development simultaneously?

Amazing writeup, love this types of blog posts and hope the hawaii trip was enjoyable

I started with CLion, and found the UX to be completely foreign (not at all Mac-like) and overall frustrating to use.

Xcode is definitely not perfect, but it's IDE I'm most used to, so I ended up doing my most of my editing in it.

because of the mix of boredom, very shoddy internet that drops constantly and ANC earbuds removing distractions, I often find myself getting in the zone while riding the train back home from the office. As the kids say, I lock in
