If you want to see an index of meta studies, you can check out the Cochrane Collaboration: https://www.cochranelibrary.com/

It’s mentioned in the book Bad Pharma which has a pretty good breakdown of how drug marketing to consumers and medical professionals distorts decision making.

And the ability to cost-effectively signal to customers that your execution is better.

A few years back an artist did a LCD piece that used the daily NYT front page image as the seed for a generative painting:

Baseball’s state and state transitions are easily serializable, no need for a lossy video stream :)

Creator here: I’ve found that deactivating all non admin users in a workspace (effectively “deactivating the slack”) during the holidays is a good way to give everyone a break, especially in noisy public slacks. Unfortunately, slack does not provide a “deactivate user” endpoint in their API (at least for free slacks), and manually deactivating all the users is a pain, so I had to go the “paste in browser console” route. Writing this function was also a good way to grok async / await, as the git history will show. I might add some sort of reactivation function ... after the holidays. :)

Thank you, this post and the linked post are very helpful, and confirm a lot of thoughts. I didn't think about the 1099s passing muster, will definitely look into that. One challenge I've had is that there doesn't seem to be a good way to search for accountants. Is there something like Zocdoc for accountants?

What did they honestly think was going to happen when they introduced internet terminals across the city?

I struggle to understand the city's response to this issue, aggressive filtering could have achieved the same goal of preventing unseemly public web browsing.

If your API has lots of different user roles (which can often break REST), this small library we built might be interesting to you: https://github.com/computer-lab/django-rest-framework-roles

Fun fact: Musk has said that he came up with the idea for SolarCity at burning man.
