GitHub Copilot rate limits Pro Users (github.com/orgs)

I and many other Pro and Pro+ paying customers have been affected, many threads popping up right now in community forums. Many users opened support tickets, some of the cancelling their subscription. No response whatsoever from Github.

Cancel your subscription until it's fixed. Otherwise, you're paying for the crappy service they're intentionally providing to you.

The article posted by The Register is pretty amazing:

Microsoft's answer to heavy, paid use is to limit how much people can make use of their paid plan? Hilarious. I don't know who would still pay for it, especially the $100+/month spenders.

We are spending many multiples of that and currently shopping around.

Microsoft could have handled this better. They decided not to.

GitHub have finally wised up that you could run Copilot on a cron and use almost unlimited tokens. They have since made the product unusable by enforcing extremely strict rate limits, annoying many paid customers.

If anyone missed it: Microsoft recently declared that Copilot was for entertainment purposes only. [0]

They weren’t lying: Schadenfreude is a.. form of entertainment. I’m just not sure if their users are entertained with the product right now.

Isn't that Microsoft Copilot? Github Copilot is a different thing.

I was given a 44 hour rate limit and haven't had a response to my support ticket yet. I've been little to no progress done on some of my hobby projects.
